What Can I Expect on Tuesday Train Rides?

Well, when you do decide to join up for these locomotive excursions, the first thing you should know is that all of the trains are going to depart from Central Pacific Railroad Freight Depot in Old Sacramento. So if you are going to go on one of these journeys, you need to show up to the railroad prior to 11 AM or 1 PM, depending on your time of departure.

As an adult, you will have to pay $12 for your ticket to ride on the train. If you are between the ages of 6 to 17, your tickets will only cost half the price at six dollars per person. And if an adult is bringing a child age 5 or under on this trip, then these lucky youngsters are going to be able to get a seat for free.

Unfortunately, they are not taking ticket reservations, so you have to show up prior to the event and buy the tickets at the ticket window. They give out tickets on a first-come, first-served basis, and you can start getting your tickets at 10:30 AM the day the train rides take place.

To get your tickets, they will be available at the ticket office at the Freight Depot and you’ll get your tickets from Sacramento Southern Railroad. On April 7, the ticket office is going to relocate to the Central Pacific Passenger Station at Front and J Streets, so keep this in mind if you plan on riding the locomotive during the month of April.
