Sacramento in the Summertime

Citrus Heights apartments and other residences in Sacramento is definitely the subject of envy for those who do not live in this great community. Why do people get so jealous of others living in Sacramento? They get jealous because it’s a great community and it’s one of the best places in the world to be if you like to get outside and enjoy your life during the summertime.

Some of us have a tendency to stay indoors too often because we are busy and we have things to do. Others are easily distracted by TV shows, YouTube videos, social media, and a million and one other things happening online on our phones, tablets, and desktop computers. We often get so roped up in these activities that we forget that there’s a beautiful world outside waiting for us to explore.

There are so many great reasons to live in Sacramento during the summertime that it’s going to be hard to talk about them all. So instead of even attempting to pull that off, we’re going to narrow it down to our three favorite reasons why we know you’re going to fall head over heels in love with Sacramento during the summer.

This truly is an amazing place as you are about to find out. So stick around to learn the reasons why we all love Sacramento when June, July, and August are in full bloom.

1. The Sacramento Park System Is Absolutely Incredible

The park system in Sacramento is truly one of the best of its kind. Since the weather in the summertime is always so gorgeous, you’ll want to spend time in any one of 222 parts that make up 3200 acres of land in this beautiful city.

This may seem overwhelming to you on the surface, but it doesn’t necessarily have to be. You can try visiting one particular park that you may have heard about, or attempt to visit as many as possible. It’s really up to you to decide which parks and how many to see while the summer months are still in full swing.

Our favorite recommendations include Discovery Park, McKinley Park, Granite Regional Park, North Natomas Regional Park, and Partner Park to name a few of our preferred options. Remember to bring your pooch along for the ride because he or she is going to love this exciting outdoor adventure just as much if not more than you do.

2. The Sacramento Summer Festival Is Second to None

And let’s not forget about the other amazing community events going on during the summertime. They always have exciting festivals and events that help kick the excitement up a notch or two during this time of year.

The best thing is that the fun and thrills never seem to come to an end as different festivals and events take place all throughout the summer. We have an opportunity to go to the California State Fair, the Sactown Wings Festival, The Color Run, and the Sacramento Banana Festival to name a few of the most anticipated events.

So get outside this summer and enjoy the beautiful weather and the amazing fresh air. And remember to head up one of these festivals and events, or if you’re really feeling frisky, try to make it to all of them. You’ll be excited to get to know your neighbors better and you’ll have an amazing time meeting wonderful new people in your community.

3. Swimming and Water Sports Are Definitely an Option

Do you enjoy swimming? How about water sports? If you said yes to either of those questions, then you’re about to fall head over heels in love with Sacramento once again. Even though it isn’t exactly next to the Pacific Ocean, it really is only just a quick drive away. But in the interim, there are actually a number of bodies of water in the area that you can visit to experience fun in the sun this summer without missing a beat.

First off, we recommend checking out Folsom Lake. It’s the ideal choice if you’re looking to go picnicking, horseback riding, running, camping, biking, hiking, boating, and waterskiing too. You’re going to love it here because the water is amazing, the waterskiing is off the charts awesome, and it’s such an exciting place to be during this time of year.

Lake Natoma is also an excellent option if you’re looking to spend some time by the water in Sacramento. This gorgeous lake is one of the most peaceful places in the world to visit, and it’s only a few miles southeast of the city, so you can get their relatively quickly too.

If you happen to be into swimming, kayaking, and rowing, then this lake is going to be right up your alley. You’re allowed to drive powerboats on the water too, but the speed limit is limited to 5 mph, so you aren’t going to be doing any racing while here so keep that in mind.
